How to do international business

Many articles and guidelines dealing with international business speak of this as something complex, bureaucratic and only for a few companies. They speak of many needs, planning, market research, product adequacy, packaging, certifications and other needs.

All of these requirements are normal in the domestic market and, therefore, are not exclusive to companies that want to do international business.

We have summarized international business problems in three:

  1. Market: the entrepreneur, for export, needs to analyze the market he wants to reach, city, country or region, adapt his products to market needs, calculate and compare prices and, finally, identify potential customers, and for import he needs to analyze the market in which the product you are looking for may have the best price, quality and delivery time, and calculate costs for nationalization.
  2. Procedures: the entrepreneur needs to know the export or import routines and procedures, such as documents, price formation, payment methods, purchase and sale modalities (INCOTERMSS) and the export or import step by step.
  3. Logistics: the entrepreneur needs to find the right partners for his export or import to take place successfully, with quality and security, and this includes foreign exchange services, international transport, domestic transport, insurance, customs brokers, consultants and other specific services and needed.

Knowing these three problems, the entrepreneur will be able to communicate better with his customers or suppliers, service providers and employees. What once seemed difficult is becoming clearer.

And why are the three types of knowledge (market, procedures and logistics) complementary?

Because just knowing the market is not enough, if we do not know the procedures and logistics.

It is also not enough just to know the procedures if we do not know the market and logistics.

It is also not enough just to know the logistics, if you don’t know the procedures and know the market.

Several systems in the world try to solve these three problems separately. Intradebook has developed a solution that combines market, routines and logistics, in one place, in an orderly and interactive way.
